In the year under review, the Explosives Devices Analysis Office (EDAO) carried out the following activities in line with the resolve of the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure a peaceful and resilient society for its citizens and all residents of the country:
Committee for establishment of the special task force on illegal mining and erection of regional explosives magazines in Nigeria in a group photograph with the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd) (4th Left).
i. Set up Committee to Draft a policy framework for mining activities in Zamfara State.
ii. Also put in place a Committee to work out modalities for the establishment of the special task force on illegal mining and erection of regional explosives magazines in Nigeria.
iii. Conduct of security assessment/vulnerability inspection of Ammonia Anhydrous plants at the Dangote Fertilizer Plant in October 2022 and Indorama Eleme Fertilizers and Chemicals plant in January, 2022.
iv. EDAO NCTC participated in the Nigeria-Niger cost build up validation and trade facilitation workshop organised by International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC) held in June 2022.
v. Training of over 30 x NSCDC CBRNE personnel as Raw Material Receipt Officers in all blending/port holding areas across the country to promote proper monitoring and record keeping of stock 2022.
vi. Conduct of security Assessment /Inspection of Fertilizer Blending Plants to partake in Presidential Fertilizer Initiative in partnership with FMARD, NSIA and FEPSAN. NCTC ONSA assessment report has formed a basis for NSIA and FEPSAN auditing of the project. The Office also received commendations for the professional conduct of the assessment which has enhanced the security of sensitive raw materials and production in 2022.

vii. Hosting of stakeholders technical meeting with relevant regulatory bodies like FMARD, FEPSAN and NSIA in the ban of Urea and dry blended NPK 20:10:10 to the to the North Eastern states of the country/tUrea Exporting for the Nation 2022.
viii. Held a stakeholders meeting on control of Urea and other Dry Blended NPK fertilizers in Nigeria on 14 September, 2022.
