As a follow-up to an earlier workshop held from 12 -13 December, 2022, the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Office of the National Security Adviser (NCTC-ONSA) held a one-day Multi-Agency Kidnap Fusion Cell Workshop for Heads of Agencies on Wednesday 5 April, 2023, in Abuja.

The Workshop, attended by the representatives of Security, Defence/ Intelligence Agencies, was facilitated by the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Nigeria, in collaboration with the UK-National Crime Agency as well as Protect and Prepare Limited.

In his opening remarks, the National Coordinator, National Counter Terrorism Centre, Rear Admiral YEM Musa (rtd) expressed gratitude to the People and Government of the United Kingdom for their interest in addressing the security challenges in Nigeria, particularly, kidnapping for ransom.
He noted that the workshop was necessitated by the need to engage relevant stakeholders that could make accurate and intelligent decisions that would lay to rest, the challenges associated with kidnap for ransom in the country and other organised crime.

The workshop called for effective collaborations among security and intelligence agencies in Nigeria in order to tackle all the security threats confronting the nation.
