Nigeria, US strengthen collaboration on CT

Nigeria and the United States of America have restated their collaboration towards Counter Terrorism efforts in Nigeria.

This came as a delegation of the US Department of State led by David Greene, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim for the U.S. Embassy, Abuja paid a visit to the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), on 8 September, 2023 in Abuja.

In his remarks, the National Coordinator, NCTC, Rear Admiral YEM Musa (rtd) said the visit signified the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations in fight against terrorism. He added that it is through collaboration and sharing of expertise that the complex challenges posed by terrorism could be effectively addressed.

By working closely with international partners, we enhance our collective abilities to combat terrorism. Coming together, we underscore our commitment to stability and preservation of human life,” The National Coordinator stressed.

Also speaking, the leader of the delegation, Mr. David Greene, who expressed gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser for the reception, assured of his country’s commitment to Counter Terrorism in Nigeria, with a view to ensuring a more secured and stable country.
