In his opening remarks, the National Coordinator, National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Rear Admiral YEM Musa (rtd) noted that the meeting would provide opportunity for stakeholders to receive updates on PCVE activities, the NCTC and its expanded mandates as well as to brainstorm on the way forward for the PCVE interventions in 2023.

“As we all know, this meeting is scheduled to hold quarterly; but because of the tedious activities in preparation for the inauguration of the NCTC and new ONSA building, we were unable to convene the 1st quarter meeting; hence the decision to combine the 1st and 2nd quarter meeting,” he said.
The National Coordinator assured that the Centre would not hesitate to coordinate, support and promote activities/programmes that focus on the prevention and Countering violent extremism, for lasting peace, stability and security of the country.
He added that this would only be possible with the collaboration and support of all PCVE stakeholders from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as well as the communities.
